Our CEO, Jim Prussak, was interviewed for a story on how Baby Boomers are changing what families expect from home care. The piece ran on WTVO and was picked up by Yahoo News and AOL.
Jim talks about how different generations see getting help at home. Many seniors from the Greatest Generation grew up prizing independence and privacy, so accepting a caregiver can feel like giving up control. Baby Boomers tend to expect more convenience, clearer communication and care that fits the way they already live.
His takeaway: good home care has to adapt to the person, not the other way around. As he put it, “everyone wants to feel respected, understood and in control of their own lives.”
That is the heart of how we work at Applause. Our Care Partners build care around each client’s routines and preferences, so help at home feels like support, not a loss of independence.
